What is Gender Affirmation Hormone Therapy?

Gender affirmation transitioning is an emerging area in medicine which allows gender-nonconforming people to match their physical bodies to the gender with which they identify. Patients typically undergo gender affirming hormone therapy as their first medical step into physical transitioning. Unfortunately, due to its relatively new status in medicine, research is limited and resources are scarce. This website is intended to help patients (you!) visualize the effects of hormone therapy over time with matching descriptions of the anatomical and physiological changes.

This website was built by a medical illustrator from Augusta University and a gynecologist who treats patients undergoing gender affirming hormone therapy at The Equality Clinic in Augusta, Georgia. We designed this website with the patients' needs and interests in mind.

I highly encourage leaving your feedback so we can improve the content of this website!
